The Braille Authority of North America (BANA), which meets face-to-face semiannually, will hold its 2020 spring meeting March 19-21 in Baltimore, MD. This meeting will be hosted by the National Federation of the Blind (NFB), which is a BANA member organization. The meetings will take place at the NFB Jernigan Institute, which is located at 200 E Wells Street, Baltimore, MD 21230.
Items on the Board's agenda include progress reports of BANA's numerous ongoing projects. The Board will review formal reports from all of BANA's technical, general, and special committees such as those focusing on tactile graphics, braille formats, Nemeth, and publications. The Board will take action on recommendations and issue new committee charges when appropriate.
As always, interested parties are invited to observe BANA board meetings. If you are interested in observing the BANA meeting, please contact BANA Chair Tamara Rorie at 202-707-3001 or email at chair@brailleauthority.org.
The mission of the Braille Authority of North America is to assure literacy for tactile readers through the standardization of braille and/or tactile graphics.
