This edition is based on EBAE.

Braille Formats, Principles of Print-to-Braille Transcription, 2011 is based on English Braille, American Edition (EBAE). Although EBAE is no longer an approved braille code in North America, BANA will retain the Braille Formats, 2011 on the BANA website.

The new Braille Formats, 2016 aligns BANA’s braille formatting guidelines with Unified English Braille (UEB).

BANA provides Braille Formats: Principles of Print-to-Braille Transcription, 2011 in three accessible electronic versions: enhanced PDF, BRF, and online HTML.
